2010: Staffing Reductions
Station Customer Assistants at subway stations throughout the system have been reduced. The reduced staffing of stations was necessary to help balance New York City Transit's operating budget and is part of the agency's overall cost-savings effort approved last March by the Board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The 2010 locations are listed below, by borough.
You can continue to enter and exit through the turnstiles with a MetroCard during the times posted at station entrances. Buy MetroCard at MetroCard Vending Machines using cash or debit/credit cards, or at your neighborhood MetroCard merchant.
If you need assistance:
- use the station’s full-time entrance where a station agent is always on duty; or,
- use the intercom to talk with an agent at the full-time entrance.

If you need to enter through a gate or are a Reduced-Fare customer who needs or has a return trip ticket, you must use the station’s full-time booth where an agent is always on duty.
